Upcoming Event:

Santa Muerte Music & Arts Festival, a two day event celebrating the folklore of the southwest showcasing some of the most important underground musicians and cutting-edge international visionary artists. This is a grassroots event created and inspired by artists and musicians.

ART: Twenty world-renowned artists from Scotland, Italy, Canada, and across the U.S. converge on Tucson at Sacred Machine. Participating artists work has appeared in and been commissioned by The New York Times, Juxtapoz Magazine, Hi-Fructose Magazine, Time Magazine, The Washington Post, LA Times, the Academy Award winning movie 'Traffic' by Steven Soderbergh, on multi-platinum album covers, illustrated children's books, published monographs, and advertising for clients such as Sony and Toyota. "These artists are so multi-talented that some even play in rock bands and create videos. With their work they have imbued apocalyptic prophecies, shaken the norms of conventional iconography and written books, museums and collectors such as Madonna acquire their work, they exhibit their art across the globe, some self-taught, some professors, some outsiders, but one thing is certain, the group as a whole has influenced, and is seriously rocking the art world." Paula Catherine Valencia, Curator of Sacred Machine.

MUSIC: The event also joins forces with a unique group of underground and highly innovative musicians, whose mutual admiration has spawned what they call “an epic event of music and drama” and who seek to push the envelope of acceptable norms, melding genres, shattering molds, and making an artistic statement. The show promises to offer an experience that stimulates the senses, both aurally and visually. Special guests and Tucson creative greats, Flam Chen will be lending their signature theatrics between sets.

About Sacred Machine:
Sacred Machine is a museum and curiosity shop for the creations of world-renowned Tucson artist and musician Daniel Martin Diaz, and wife and co-founder of their band Blind Divine, Paula Catherine Valencia. "As native Tucsonans, we know the importance of our diverse culture and lifestyle and feel we have embraced it and expressed it through our own creativity. There is a sort of magic here in the desert that makes it such a unique place. We see downtown Tucson as an energetic enigma and we wanted to be in the thick of it."

Sacred Machine is a beautiful space: with art, t-shirts, posters, handpicked books, funky handmade chandeliers and lighting fixtures, painted skateboards and guitars, an antique grand piano, and a 15-Stop Harmonium from the early 1900's for occasional musical performances, ranging from classical to the unusual and eclectic. "Our hope is to involve artists and musicians who rarely have a platform for their art, and to challenge those who do exhibit or perform often, to experiment!" Also featured, is the art of invited artist Francisco Rodriguez.
